Details

We provide a fun and unique experience which lasts around 2-3 hours depending on optional breaks. Within the game, you step into the shoes of a private investigator who has built up a network of virtual contacts. Using an interactive map you’ll be alerted when your virtual contacts have information to share – race to their location and explore the area to unlock each clue.

In The Case of Colombia's Finest Jim needs your help and has asked you to sniff out evidence of crime amongst the caffeine. 

Can you find enough information to solve the mystery before time runs out?

  • We recommend team sizes of up to 4 but if there are more of you, divide into competing teams to add an extra dimension to your Hunt
  • If you have a group size of more than 10 players email us at booking@streethuntgames.com and we can help to set up your staggered start times
  • You select from 1 hour start times throughout the day and the tickets are fully flexible if your plans change
  • Each player receives a unique link to access the game ahead of your booking date. We recommend each player experiences the Hunt on their own device while working together in your team
  • Let us know if it’s a surprise for your team-mates and we can amend the timing of when they’ll receive the emails
  • There’s no interaction with anyone outside of your team and you’ll receive all the info you need ahead of your Hunt day
  • You meet your ‘virtual’ contacts via a web browser on your smartphone make sure you have a fully charged phone and ideally a portable charger
  • You can break anytime and we provide recommendations to suit any budget within the game area
  • If you get stuck on any questions, hints and skips are available
  • The game could end in various locations but it will be in central York
  • This Hunt is brilliant for friends, colleagues, dates and families 15+ children given the adult nature of the content

A perfect way to get outside and get your steps in or as an alternative team social, date night or friends meet-up. Our debut game, Colombia’s Finest, introduces you to Jim Robusta and his coffee company - Jim’s colleagues have shady pasts and Jim has asked you to sniff out evidence of crime amongst the caffeine. In Will Breaker, your uncle has died in mysterious circumstances, leaving his estate to you, but only if you can solve a series of brain teasers. Along the way, you’ll meet various virtual characters from his past and discover that there was more to your uncle than meets the eye. Can you find enough information to crack the case before time runs out?

7. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.

9. The StreetHunt games take place on the streets, and it is the responsibility of every player to ensure their own personal safety whilst participating in the game. You agree to communicate this to any player involved in your booking.

    We had a good time and I would recommend this event! I would say that it is suitable for families; the clues were satisfying to solve but should be accessible to children with the help of a parent. I have minor mobility issues that make my walking pace slower than many peoples’. It was a bummer to be unable to complete the event in the time given just because of that. The clues were neat and easy enough to solve, but then there was no way we could keep the pace. The timing of the suggested break also fell way too far into the game; by that point we were already not going to make time and feeling frustrated. I would like to suggest that you offer a game with a longer time limit for people who need it. So people could either choose the current pace, or a pace more suitable for those with walking constraints - disabled folk and the elderly. Because it really WAS an excellent way to get some gentle walking exercise in and keep my brain sharp!

It's always great to hear when people enjoy the combination of the mental challenge and getting outside and exercising. We do have the functionality for the timer to be extended in Will Breaker so we're pleased you were still able to complete the game. As discussed we're sorry this wasn't all clear but we've made a few tweaks to the wording so people know they don't need to rush and will still be able to complete it. We also allow players to break anytime as depending on a team's pace, the built-in break isn't always at the right time for players.     I did this with my 12 year old daughter and we both loved it. The clues were not too difficult and we even managed to crack the case at the end. However we thought 1.5 hours was not enough - 2 hours would be better. We kept pausing the game at the end so that we could complete all the locations. We were walking quite fast throughout the game and still couldn’t finish it in 1.5 hours.

It's useful to hear your thoughts on timings - most teams complete in the time but we are looking to add functionality to enable the timer to be extended when required, which will be coming in early 2025.
